Tessa trained as a veterinary surgeon at the University of Bristol and during her veterinary training obtained an intercalated BSc in Genetics from Liverpool University. Tessa is now undertaking a Wellcome Trust funded PhD as part of the Edinburgh Clinical Academic Track (ECAT) based in the Centre for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. Her current interests are centred around blood-brain barrier integrity and endothelial cell dysfunction in rodent models of Small Vessel Disease (SVD). She is also looking at understanding the effects of dysfunction on the surrounding white matter.
