Dr Zachary Gursky
Dr Zachary Gursky is a neuroanatomist that joined Yale School of Medicine (Department of Anesthesiology) as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2021. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD in Psychological & Brain Sciences in 2020, having focused on the impact of alcohol-induced neurodegeneration and inflammation in early development on the cellular structure and connectivity of the brain. Since joining Dr. Benveniste's research group at Yale, he has directed his efforts at characterizing the points of connection between the immune systems of the central nervous system and the periphery. Central to this is understanding the anatomical, physiological, and environmental factors that contribute to — or ward off — neurodegenerative and vascular disease onset and progression throughout life.
